It is undeniable that one of the greatest advantages of being on a team is to have contact with people who have the same goal and the same will to evolve and consolidate as a true professional player.
Team spirit is one of our core values here at Metagame and permeates the relationships between everyone who is part of the team. That’s why it’s common for our players to join in study groups beyond the classes taught by our instructors and that’s a source of great pride for us.
Matheus “Matheus Melo” Melo, Pedro “smash” Fernandes and Bruno “Creuzebec” Almeida met at CardRoom and began studying together. “Practically every morning we studied together. We had a great commitment to the studies, and we took these moments to ask questions and even look for support software. Shortly after starting to study with them, I felt I was making a fantastic evolution and managed to push the boundaries. The group had the same mentality and the same goal: to join Metagame,” Matheus said.
The evolution had even happened and Matheus, in June 2022, managed to join the first team of Metagame. During this period the group took a break from the studies, mas Bruno and Pedro also managed to make the move up soon after and they returned with the study routine.
“As soon as Pedro and I got to Metagame we went back to studying often and of course this has influenced a lot in our evolution for several reasons: first because we have a different opinion about us. In addition, the group makes this moment of study more dynamic and pleasant, and this strengthens our commitment to studies”, said Bruno.
Daily the group meets from 8am and studies until approximately 11am, always reviewing the hands marked in the grind of previous days, study some specific spot and sometimes one of them makes a live play for others to watch.
“I consider it fundamental in the career of any poker player to have at their side people who aggregate, whether in downswings, or in achievements and details. This study group worked very well in our walk, because we ended up becoming more than co-workers, we became friends, who advise themselves and help each other, also in things off Poker. I can say that this group was fundamental in my evolution as a player, and I hope to be able to add to them, how much they add up to me”, concluded Pedro.
