At the end of November 2022 Paraguayan Dario “sanchezzdarioo” Sánchez joined Metagame Micro playing 10NL, something that is extremely common in our daily life. The difference is that Darius was an MTT player and had never played Cash Game before joining the team.
Like most players, the Paraguayan met Poker as a teenager, but only long after he decided to make the game his profession. In 2020 he’s gone all out to try to live in Poker, but by not having a financial reserve it didn’t work out.
“I worked while playing Sit and MTT’s and joined a financial reserve and in mid-2022 I was able to dedicate myself exclusively to Poker. But I wasn’t too happy with the tournaments and decided to migrate to cash game. That’s how, without any basis in the sport, I decided to look for Metagame to boost my career as a professional player”, he said.
Getting to the team without ever having played Cash Game was not easy, but according to the Paraguayan, the structure and methodology of Metagame made the process a little less difficult. “I decided to migrate to cash game for many factors: lifestyle, lower variance and more consistency in profits, being able to play and stop when you want to. My biggest difficulty in this transition was literally learning from 0 how to play deep stack because I had never played before. What helped me in this period were the classes and methodology of the team that gave me a strong foundation from the pre to the post flop with a wonderful Blueprint! Also, the fact that I can take all my questions in the Discord of the team with the other players, instructors and partners.”
According to Dario the “Metagame left the “complicated” very simple!”. And so it’s true that in just two months on the team he managed to move up tier micro to tier low. The player, who is now hitting the 25NL, said he didn’t expect to push the boundaries that fast, but that he worked hard to make things work.
Asked about the factors that made him climb so fast, Dario listed some: trust and run the Blueprint, not miss classes, be very curious and take all questions constantly and volumar regardless of the run you may have.
